David J. Kerper's career began after four years of Photography School, both in Philadelphia and New York City; He opened his first studio in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. Initially his clients included studio portraits and weddings but his main focus was on establishing a commercial business. The early days included working for several weekly newspapers in the area as well as the city's major daily's. Finding himself very ably suited for this work and winning a national press photographer award for the Philadelphia Bulletin Kerper kept his focus on his goals and used his contacts to establish himself in the commercial and industrial fields. While in the Roxborough area his first major commercial accounts included Mrs. Paul's Kitchens, Container Corp. of American and several major hospitals.
With the increased demands of the commercial accounts,
the base of operations moved to Wyndmoor, PA.in 1969.
The move gave Kerper Studio the distinction of having one of the largest commercial facilities in the Philadelphia and
suburban area, which is still true today. Increased demands from his clients to be able to turn around a finished quality product in a short period of time, pushed Kerper into establishing his own in house finishing plant. Today,
Kerper maintains a state of the art professional photofinishing facility as well as a complete digital service bureau.Over a period of 35 years Kerper and his award winning
staff have served Fortune 500 companies as well as the local manufacturers. While servicing mainly a regional client base, assignments have taken him and his staff throughout the United States and many foreign countries.
